Guangzhou, China Photographer, Shannon Gill

Your Session:

I am thrilled that you are interested in having me photograph you and your family. It truly is a privilege. When you have decided that I am the photographer for you, please contact me to book your session. Prior to your session we will meet for a consultation to determine the best location, discuss clothing choices, and answer any questions that you may have. I offer exclusively on-location natural light portraiture, which means you may choose to have your session at your home or a mutually agreed upon location. As long as there is good light, I'm there! Sessions are very comfortable and laid back, with no rush and ample time to capture the best possible images. I understand the needs of children, and will break for a feeding, snack, diaper change or even a short rest. Sometimes that's when the best portraits are made, when you are least expecting it. That said, sessions run on average between one and two hours.

Newborn Sessions:

Newborns are best photographed within the first four to ten days of life. During this time newborns sleep the deepest, are more 'bendy', and have that fresh newborn look that all too quickly fades. Baby acne can appear at the two week mark so a session prior to then is advisable. Plenty of time is set aside for feedings, changes, and the inevitable 'uh-ohs'. For those reasons newborn sessions last three to four hours. Newborn sessions can be done at your home or at my home studio.

If you are pregnant and interested in booking a newborn session, please contact me in advance so that I can pencil your due date in on my calendar. I will leave room around that date to accommodate your session, and will finalize a session date once your baby is born. Beautiful results can still be achieved with an older baby, so contact me nonetheless, and I will do my best to fit you in.

What to Wear:

Clothing is such a personal form of expression, so it is entirely up to you! However, I do suggest steering clear of distracting patterns, logos, and words. Solid colors, sundresses, jeans, and khakis are all great for creating timeless looks. It is often best to keep things simple, so that your child's personality is what shines through. I am happy to provide suggestions based upon the session location and we can always discuss options at your consultation.

After Your Session:

Approximately two weeks after your session we will meet to view your proofs together. We will also place your order for prints and artwork at this time. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for your portrait delivery, from the time that payment is received in full. Albums and other specialty items may take up to 6 weeks.

Pricing:

I know you have a choice when it comes to choosing your photographer, and that price is a consideration. As your photographer, I pledge to provide the exceptional attention to detail necessary to deliver unique and high quality images. With every session, I carefully select and process each image to my professional standards. I am a believer in quality over quantity and hope that you will agree.

Many different print options are available, such as fine art gallery wraps and leather bound keepsake albums. Please contact me for pricing information.
